My mother has now been living with ovarian cancer for more than four years (we now know she had symptoms long before her diagnosis). Her oncologist is pretty impressed, because Mum's already doing better than anyone could have expected. Resilient Ros is what I call her. As I wrote last year when I plunged into this fund-raising lark, going through this process with her, and witnessing the amazing care she has received along the way from hospital and palliative care staff at St Vincents, the Kinghorn Centre and Sacred Heart hospice, have inspired me to take part in this initiative for a second year. Hell - if she can keep going, then so can I. This one's for you, Rosalind Feldman and thanks, as ever, for all you've done for me.
